"I absolutely love it here -everything!"

Our independent housing program launched just two months ago and it has been an incredible journey. We've quickly discovered an immense need for housing in Indianapolis across various demographics—especially for teens transitioning out of the foster care system. We've recently become a vendor for DCS and FireFly, and our phones are consistently ringing with opportunities.

We spoke with our new resident, referred to here as Megan, to gain her perspective on Brooke and Spier's housing program. Megan told me, "Miss Tammi, I love it here! I love absolutely everything. I love my room, the structure, the kitchen. I just love it!" In that moment, it hit me that this program is truly making a difference in our resident's lives. It means the world to them to have their own place to live. She shared that she currently holds two jobs and is actively seeking a third to help autistic children. It is evident that she, along with our other residents, demonstrate a big heart and incredible work ethic!

With this, we are truly grateful for our generous landlords that willingly provide this space and social workers that provide a true wrap around service. We look forward to new ventures with more houses to help people thrive in our city!
